Blanking Panels
Blanking panels play an important role in the airflow efficiency of the data centre. Blanking Panels are used to seal off unused rack space, they have two main uses:
- Blanking Panels cut down bypass airflow, air that doesn't pass through the equipment to be cooled.
- Blanking Panels prevent warm exhaust server air from recirculating to the front of the rack where it can either be taken back into the equipment or raise the temperature of the cool air supply.
EDP Europe offer two Blanking Panel solutions HotLok® and PlenaFill®, both solutions are available in traditional dark grey or light grey / white.
HotLok® blanking panels, from Upsite Technologies, are a range of 1U or 2U blanking panels that have a unique touch-tight design. The design prevents hot air leakage by eliminating the gap between adjoining blanking panels or the rack mounted equipment.
PlenaFill® blanking panels are supplied in packs of 10 27U sheets, that's 270U of blanking in one pack! Each PlenaFill® 27U sheet is scored at 1U intervals so the required number of U can be simply snapped off.
