ID Band Enterprise - Wristband Printing Software

ID Band E is Colorflex’s special purpose, fully integrated, data polling/print software for printing Intaglio* designs. It is the preferred method of printing on-demand admissions wristband and chart label applications, because it completely automates the printing process, using simple delimited text file output from any data source.

By using data that already resides in HIS systems, ID Band easily prints HIPAA- compliant wristbands and labels automatically—without error.

After finding specified data, ID Band E can perform the following functions:

  • Use multiple data sources, template designs and output printers
  • Exclude duplicate records as required
  • Omit extraneous characters or records as required
  • Execute specified rule-based data transformation tasks
  • Route data as specified

ID Band E provides an easy, expandable, networkable, positive patient identification solution, making wristband and chart label printing effortless, automatic, and seamless, using its internal print engine.

ID Band E provides two methods for interfacing with HIS systems

  • The ASCII method watches for a variety of file formats in multiple specified locations.
  • The Serial method watches for inbound serial data streams.

WRISTBAND/CHART LABEL AUTOMATION IS 1….2….3….. STEPS AWAY
  1. SETUP – ID Band E is configured to find data in HIS or other specified directories.
  2. WATCH – ID Band E matches to pre-defined criteria any new data placed in the specified directory or directories, transforms it based on pre-set rules, and then processes it for printing wristbands and chart labels.
  3. SEND – Once processed, ID Band E automatically prints the data at a specified time and print queue location on wristband or chart labels as required. (Admissions, ER, Radiology, Pediatrics, etc., can share the same system, but have unique wristband and chart label designs.)

Like other software in the Colorflex family of print solutions, ID Band E enables high quality printing of Intaglio* designs with any combination of variable COLOUR, variable TEXT,
variable BARCODE, and, with the NEW Referenced Image feature, variable IMAGES/GRAPHICS (logos, patient photos) like never before.

For the most challenging automated print applications, ID Band E allows complete control of all print elements to produce virtually any risk message, Alert Colour Codes, or special orders. ID Band E helps to streamline admissions, increase patient safety, decrease provider liability, reduce medication errors, and aid inventory control.
