Rextron Serial Supervisor Module

The Serial Supervisor module, from Rextron, enables access to computers, routers, intelligent power or other serial devices which require interactive login.

Each Serial Supervisor module features two RJ-14 connectors and one DB-9 female connector.

Connecting the Serial Supervisor module to the ‘R’ port of Rextrons series of KVM over IP switches enables the user to access serial devices in addition to the computers connected to the standard KVM ports.

Up to 16 serial devices that have RS232 serial ports, and require interactive login, can be controlled and monitored by daisy chaining Serial Supervisor modules together.

Each Serial Supervisor module receives power and data over the daisy-chain. A simple RS-485 protocol is used to communicate with each unit. All configuration information is stored in non-volatile memory within the Serial Supervisor module itself, which means settings are not lost when re-wiring the Serial Supervisor network.
