The Geist Environmental Monitoring Plus (RSE-8) is an environmental monitoring system that allows IT Managers to monitor the operating environment of their data centre or computer room. IT Managers must operate IT rooms within a fairly narrow temperature range to ensure reliable, long lasting computer and network equipment. Server failure rates are known to increase as the temperature rises above the recommended values set by manufacturers. Humidity, airflow, water and security all introduce potential points of failure, if not closely monitored and controlled by an environmental monitoring system. Geist offer an environmental monitoring system, the Environmental Monitoring Plus, that can address each of these threats and more, with 5 internal sensors and expansion capacity for up to 16 remote sensors. Data Centre managers have the peace-of-mind knowing they have access to a clear picture of their environmental conditions and will be alerted with ample time to respond to critical conditions before they become detrimental.
