Micro Data Centres or ‘MDC’ have been designed to meet the demands of localised computing requirements in offices, warehouses and factories.

A Micro Data Centre is a server cabinet that provides cooling, power and connectivity to the enclosed IT equipment, in effect a ‘Data Centre within a rack’.

Despite the increasing adoption of Cloud computing off premises IT, for some companies there is still a need or preference to run some of their IT capacity locally. In some instances, this will require the creation of a computer room, or alternatively it may result in standard IT racks being used in areas that are far from ideal, such as offices or industrial environments. This can result in employees being exposed to noise and heat from the IT equipment, or the IT equipment itself not being correctly cooled and exposed to environmental contaminants such as dust.

EDGE® Micro Data Centres ‘MDC’ have been designed to meet the demands of localised computing requirements in offices, warehouses and factories. Comprising of a range of managed air-cooled, air-conditioned or water-cooled models, there is an MDC for every local computing requirement.

Micro Data Centre cabinets provide an alternative to the creation of a computer room and all the infrastructure requirements this involves.

All models are pre-configured with intelligence, security and environmental monitoring from the factory for rapid deployment.
