Fibre Optic Optical Distribution Frames (ODF)

Huber+Suhner Fibre Optic Optical Distribution Frames (ODF)

Huber + Suhner Optical Distribution Frames (ODF)

The Huber + Suhner Optical Distribution Frames (ODF) are high density fibre optic management frames that serve as a central cross-connect in the Main Distribution Area of the data centre. The Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) offers a small footprint depth of only 300mm, with two frame widths of 900mm or 1500mm.  The Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) is a fully modular system providing 1,920 fibres in the ODF900 and 3,840 fibres in the ODF1500 using SFF connectors.

Users can benefit from the C-shaped construction, whereby all internal sub-elements are completely installable and accessible from the front side providing improved access.  This is an important feature and means that ODF’s can be placed back-to-back for floor tile efficiency and subsequent Moves, Adds and Changes (MAC’s) can be carried out with the utmost speed and simplicity.

Features & Benefits

  • Optical Distribution Frames are a modular and flexible system.
  • Rear-mounting components provide improved access to fibre optic cables.
  • Fast installation from the front side.
  • Radius limitation on fibre optic cables and patch cords of 30mm.
  • Integration of MTP connectivity or splice trays.
  • Inline and cross connect configurations.
  • 3-point locking door mechanism with door options of solid, plexi-glass or mesh.
  • Doors and side panels can be removed for greater accessibility.
  • Fibre optic cables can enter via the top or bottom of the ODF.
  • Full numbering system for fibre trays & conduits providing excellent traceability.
  • Optical Distribution Frames can be bayed together either side-to-side or back-to-back.

Optical Distribution Frame Accessories

There is a full range of accessories for the Optical Distribution Frames that include:

  • Tray Units – Rear-mounted element that provides housing for LiSA Fibre Trays.
  • 19” Breakout Plate – Cable fixing plate used for fixing incoming fibre optic cables, cable strength members and protective conduit in splicing applications.
  • 19” Breakout Cover – Full length cover plate for protecting the transition point between cable and conduit in splicing applications.
  • 300mm Breakout Plate & Rail – Breakout plate fixes to 300mm breakout rail between the rear and front rack profile. The rail accommodates up to two 300mm breakout plates that are used for fixing incoming fibre optic cables.
  • 300mm Tie Plate & Rail – The Breakout Rail is also used to support the 300mm Tie Plate that is used to fix MTP jumpers.
  • Conduit – Provides protection in splicing applications and offers 30mm bend radius protection.
