Raised Access Flooring
Advanced Flooring Solutions For Data Centres
Raised Floors, or Raised Access Floors as they are also known by, are an elevated floor system built on a solid sub-floor. Typically found in Data Centres and Enterprise IT environments they enable the creation of a void under the floor supporting IT equipment racks. The void under the raised floor serves several purposes. This includes the routing of building services such as power cabling, data cabling, plumbing etc. While also providing a plenum that can be filled with cold air used to cool the IT equipment.
Traditional raised floors require the placement of a pedestal on each corner of a floor tile. However, EDP supply and install an alternative raised access floor system from Bergvik, that is completely different to a traditional pedestal raised floor system.
Bergvik Iso Floor is built around a unique steel substructure. This structure is structurally stable even without the file tiles in place. Utilising up to 70% fewer pedestals it has several benefits. These include quicker deployment, better optimisation of cable management and building services, and improvements in airflow management. Another benefit of the design of Iso Floor raised flooring is space optimisation. Utilising different sized floor tiles allows the space to be optimised. In fact, it allows the accommodation of up to 25% more equipment when compared to a traditional pedestal raised floor system.
