Fibre Patch Cords

Single Mode and Multi Mode Fibre Patch Cables

Fibre patch cords, or fibre patch cables as they are also known as, are lengths of fibre cable terminated with the appropriate connectors at each end. They are used to connect IT equipment in Data Centres and Enterprise IT environments.

Typical uses include connecting switches, routers, servers, storage devices and other equipment.

EDP Distribution is a stock holding distributor of HUBER+SUHNER Fibre Optic Solutions. HUBER+SUHNER manufacture a full range of Single Mode and Multi-Mode, LC, SC and E2000 fibre optic patch cords. These cables are used for in-rack connections between pieces of IT equipment. Furthermore, these cables simplify Moves, Adds and Changes (MACs). Generally, helping reduce the cable chaos caused by the thousands of network cross-connections found in modern fibre networks.

Where possible the shortest patch cord should be used for in-rack applications. As a result, the overall cable mass can be kept to a minimum. HUBER+SUHNER fibre patch cables are bend-radius optimised. This means that cables with a small outer diameter can be utilised without the risk of performance degradation in tight spaces. The range of cables available includes LC Duplex, LC Simplex, SC Duplex, SC Simplex, E2000 Duplex and Simplex, along with Single Mode and Multi-Mode LC to SC transition patch cords.

MTP jumper cables, trunk cables and transition cables are also available, along with management systems for Meet Me Rooms (MMR) and Data Centre Whitespace.
