The TZ Praetorian provides rack security control to existing 3rd party BMS access control systems. Through this integration it is possible to extend the access control of the building’s management system down to the physical security and auditing of individual 19” racks.
Using the same ID cards as used for building access it is possible to provide timed authorisation to nominated rack doors, together with discrete event monitoring and system access reporting. The TZ Praetorian™ system is scalable through industry standard structured cabling between TZ components and the access control system to manage any number of racks, allowing the system to grow as your security requirement grows.
Data centre racks are connected to the TZ Praetorian™ system and are monitored by both the BMS access controller and the TZ Praetorian™ Junction. The status of each rack door is indicated on the TZ Praetorian™ Trigger and each TZ SlideHandle™. When a valid RFID card is swiped across the card reader LED lights on the TZ Praetorian™ Trigger and TZ SlideHandle™ will flash orange to indicate which racks can be accessed. On releasing a TZ SlideHandle™ the indicating LED will turn green, and then when the rack door is closed the LED will then return to red. All the time the status and event information will be communicated back to the controller to maintain the audit trail.
