Compact, cost-effective and easy to use fibre network cable testers
The Contract Series of fibre network testers from AFL are rugged, compact, cost-effective and easy to use. Comprising of an LED or Laser light source with power meters that are simple to use the Contractor Series enables technicians to focus on installing and maintaining fibre optic networks.
With kits available for testing Single Mode or Multi-Mode fibre networks these fibre testers measure network insertion loss, continuity checks and fibre identification.
There are four models of power meters that provide a wide range of wavelengths and power levels, with optical references stored with each calibrated wavelength. Test tones are automatically detected for fibre identification.
A Laser light source outputting 1310nm and 1550nm is available for testing Single Mode fibre network, while a LED version outputting 850nm and 1300nm is available for testing Multi-Mode and is supplied with 50µm and 62.5µm mandrels. Light sources transmit CW (continuous wave) output (DC) with test tones at 2000, 1000, 330 and 270Hz for fibre identification.

Each Contractor Series Kit ships with adapter caps for all included instruments, AA alkaline batteries, user guide, and carry case with room for optional cleaning supplies (see below). Fibre mandrels (50 micron and 62.5 micron) are included with CKSM-2 and CKM-2 kits.
When purchased separately, CSM1 power meters and CSS1 light sources ship with connector adapter, AA alkaline batteries, user guide, and carry case. Fibre mandrels (50 micron and 62.5 micron) are included with CSS1-MM units.
Test jumpers are required for operation (purchased separately). Test jumpers with a variety of connector styles and fibre types and adapter caps for most common connectors may be purchased from AFL.
