KoldLok Temperature Indicator Strip

The KoldLok Temperature Indicator Strip is a liquid crystal thermometer with an acrylic self-adhesive backing that quickly and accurately measures the air-intake temperature of IT equipment. The KoldLok Temperature Indicator Strip indicates if the air temperature is within acceptable limits based on the standards established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and equipment manufacturers.

The Temperature Indicator Strip should be used with IT equipment where the potential for hot spots or other heat-related issues exists. The Temperature Indicator Strip can be attached to the front surface of a perforated door on a server rack.

KoldLok Temperature Indicator Strip Range

The KoldLok Temperature Indicator Strip has both Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scacles.

  • Celsius Scale: 10°C to 39°C in increments of 1°C
  • Fahrenheit Scale: 50°F to 102°F in increments of 2°F

KoldLok Temperature Indicator Strip Limits

  • Blue: Optimal operating range based on recommendations from ASHRAE
  • Yellow: Acceptable operating range based on equipment manufacturers' recommendations for Class 1 IT equipment
  • Red: Outside acceptable operating range, indicates a definite hot spot above 32°C or 90°F or potential for condensation below 15°C or 59°F, either of which may result in equipment failure.
