SplitLok Square – The latest KoldLok floor grommet

The KoldLok SplitLok Square, along with SplitLok Integral form a new range of KoldLok floor grommets from Upsite Technologies designed to seal new or existing cable openings in data centre raised floors.

Unsealed floor openings result in lost airflow, known as bypass airflow this contributes to IT equipment hot spots, cooling unit inefficiencies and increases infrastructure costs. Data from multiple data centres found that on average 48% of conditioned air fails to reach the air intakes of the equipment it is supposed to be cooling. KoldLok products are the market leading solution to seal cable openings and reduce this type of bypass airflow and the issues it causes in cooling the data centre.

The KoldLok Square has a split design that has an interlocking frame which fastens the two halves together. This split design improves installation by reducing labour time as it is easier to install into new or existing cable openings. It utilises a new stronger material that provides improved strength and has a smooth polished finish that can be written on using dry erasable markers for improved identification of aisle position or cabinets. Like many of the other KoldLok products the KoldLok Square utilises KoldLok’s double-layer brush design where lower, thicker filaments support finer top filaments for an improved seal around cables, and has a sealing effectiveness of a static pressure of up to 0.10 inches of water column.

The optional KoldLok SplitLok Square Cover (part no. 46-10191) is available to seal the cable opening while cables are waiting to be installed or cabinets moved into place. This safety plate promotes safety and helps decrease accidents from occurring.
