HotLok® Temperature Indicator Strip

The HotLok® Temperature Indicator Strip is a liquid crystal thermometer with an acrylic self-adhesive backing (46-4000-10009) that quickly and accurately measures the air-intake temperature of IT equipment, also available in a magnetic version (46-10125). The HotLok® Temperature Indicator Strip indicates if the air temperature is within acceptable limits based on the standards established by the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and equipment manufacturers. The Temperature Indicator Strip should be used with IT equipment where the potential for hot spots or other heat-related issues exists. The Temperature Indicator Strip can be attached to the front surface of a perforated door on a server rack.

HotLok® Temperature Indicator Strip Range

The HotLok® Temperature Indicator Strip has both Celsius and Fahrenheit temperature scacles.

• Celsius Scale: 10°C to 39°C in increments of 1°C
• Fahrenheit Scale: 50°F to 102°F in increments of 2°F

HotLok® Temperature Indicator Strip Limits

• Blue: Optimal operating range based on recommendations from ASHRAE
• Yellow: Acceptable operating range based on equipment manufacturers’ recommendations for Class 1 IT equipment
• Red: Outside acceptable operating range, indicates a definite hot spot above 32°C or 90°F or potential for condensation below 15°C or 59°F, either of which may result in equipment failure.
