Electronic Roof Release System for EDP Retrofit Cold Aisle Containment

Up to now EDP’s retrofit Cold Aisle Containment system has had two roof systems.  The first a fusible link system where the roof panels on the cold aisle containment drop at 58°C allowing the fire suppression system access to the aisle, or a gas protection roof system where the panels feature a rubber seal and are held in place with thumb screws.  Now there is another roof system for our retrofitting cold aisle containment, an electronic release system.

Features & Benefits

  • The electronic roof release system for EDP’s cold aisle containment system is suitable for use with both gas and water based fire suppression systems.
  • The electronic roof release system can be integrated into the existing fire suppression control system, or operated in a stand-alone mode, for ease of integration.
  • Under normal operating conditions the system has zero power consumption, and uses just 18 watts of power to trigger the release of the panels.
  • The electronic cold aisle containment roof release system is controlled by a solenoid mechanism and comes complete with a power supply sufficient to operate the solenoids.
  • The wiring from the solenoid to the power supply is included.  However it is recommended that installation to the fire suppression system is carried out by the system’s engineers so not to affect any warranty regulations.
  • The unobtrusive and invisible mechanism does not deter from the clean lines and uncluttered appearance of EDP’s cold aisle containment system.
  • This system is largely maintenance free, however the system should be tested periodically and can be incorporated with existing fire suppression tests.
  • Maintenance contracts are available if required.
