Bergvik Iso Floor – Raised Access Floor

Bergvik Iso Floor – Raised Access Floor

Bergvik Iso Floor Provides Dynamic Raised Access Floor Solution

The Bergvik Iso Floor® is a dynamic raised access floor system that unlike traditional Data Centre pedestal raised floor systems uses a prefabricated steel substructure.  This substructure provides high lateral stability and means that all floor panels can be removed without the risk of the floor shifting. As a result the Iso Floor design uses up to 70% fewer pedestal supports than a traditional pedestal raised access floor system, which dramatically reduces the installation time.

The design of the Iso Floor also provides better optimisation of the floor area allowing different sized floor panels to be used other than the traditional 600mm x 600mm floor panels.  This optimisation of the raised floor results in up to 25% more equipment on the same footprint compared to a traditional pedestal raised floor.

Bergvik Iso Floor Construction

The Bergvik Iso Floor has a steel substructure consisting of pedestal, primary floor beam and secondary floor beamAdditional pedestals and beams can be incorporated into Bergvik Iso Floor to support heavy equipment without the need of specialised stands as used with a traditional raised access floor

The Bergvik Iso Floor steel substructure is constructed from 80mm x 40mm tubular beams with primary and secondary beams that are securely bolted together. The all-bolted steel substructure requires less grounding with two grounding wires in opposing corners sufficient to ground 100m² of the raised floor. An extra wire is then required for each additional 100m².

The flexible & adaptable construction of the Bergvik Iso Floor permits designing for loads up to 40kN/m². The distance between the pedestals, primary and secondary beams factor in the design load, and where greater loads are required additional pedestals and beams can be added. Heavy equipment such as CRAC and UPS equipment can be supported and tip-protected directly to the substructure without the need of separate stands or threaded rods. With optional reinforcement and bracing the raised floor structure can be used in seismic zones 1-2, whilst the addition of a seismic frame, that has been tested and approved, allows use in seismic zone 4.

Benefits of Bergvik Iso Floor Raised Floor System

  • High lateral stability means that all panels can be removed without the risk of the floor shifting.
  • Raised floor heights available from 300mm to 2400mm in non seismic zones.
  • Up to 25% more equipment on the same footprint compared to traditional pedestal floor systems.
  • Up to 70% fewer pedestal supports than with conventional static raised floors.
  • Fewer pedestals also increases the plenum space under the raised floor optimising cable management, easier access for building services and allowing better airflow within the plenum.
  • Rapid and flexible deployment helps reduce installation time and cost.
  • The substructure design of Iso Floor permits partial installation whilst maintaining stability of raised floor.
  • Custom size floor panels will optimise the data centre or telecom room with any cabinet depths.
  • Panels are therefore fully removable in the aisles, making it easier for service and supplementation of equipment.
  • Unique system flexibility means future equipment expansion (life cycle) can be built into the floor design.
  • All equipment mounted on the floor can be bolted directly to the Iso Floor® structure.
  • The all-bolted steel floor structure is sufficiently grounded with only two grounding wires attached in the opposite corners of the floor mechanics.
  • Highly wear resistant floor panels are direct-laminated to prevent delamination.
  • Laminate is resistant to harsh solvents.
  • Design solutions available for all seismic zones.
  • NEBS tested seismic bracing frames for zones 3-4 will integrate with the floor mechanics.
  • Standard 5 year warranty to back Bergvik quality.
